The Home Fire Sprinkler Coalition Community Impact Tool

This tool combines national and local data to present the true costs of fire. Those involved in decision making about local fire codes, including AHJs and local officials, can gain better insight into the cost and safety benefits of home fire sprinklers and their impact on community risk reduction.

Fire officials can enter local fire data which is combined with national data and will be automatically formatted and output as a Powerpoint presentation.

5 Steps to Your Custom Presentation

#1 GATHER THE DATA

Use the QUESTION LIST and DATA SOURCES to gather information needed to complete the tool. This will be your essential checklist designed to guide you question by question through the Impact Tool. You do not have to answer all the questions to utilize the tool.

The DATA SOURCES gives you access to data relevant to your community.  This ensures your input is valid and reflects your community’s needs.

#3 FILL IN THE FORM

Once you login you will be taken to the entry form. There you can enter all the data you gathered previously. You can select which questions to use and which to skip.

#4 SAVE AND RETURN

Click the SAVE AND RESUME LATER button at the bottom of each page to modify the presentation at a later date. You can either “Copy Link” or “Enter Your Email.” The Copy Link saves the link for you to paste it somewhere for safe keeping. Enter your email to receive a unique code via email.

NOTE: Once the Download Your Community Impact Presentation button is pressed, the resume function will no longer work and all data will have to be re-entered.

#5 DOWNLOAD YOUR PRESENTATION

On the last page of the form click the “Download Your Community Impact Presentation” button. Wait for the buttons to turn color (5 – 10 minutes); you can then download the PPT. Do not click out of your browser.
