Developer Incentives Case Studies

In communities with home fire sprinkler requirements, local developer incentives are a fast and effective strategy to improve public safety and reduce construction costs.

Many communities that have codes or ordinances requiring fire sprinklers in all new construction one- and two-family homes also allow developer incentives to help reduce construction costs. These may include higher density allowing additional units, increased hydrant spacing, street width reduction, waiving fees and other incentives. The Home Fire Sprinkler Coalition (HFSC) is actively collecting and sharing examples of these successful sprinkler incentive programs.
